The satire biting, the artwork astonishing from ship design to costume. I had to scan in the page with the fleet of ships and promptly set it as my desktop - the artwork is that good. Ancient Egyptian cyberpunk stunningly rendered in luminous green. My favourite sequence is probably the scene where Sabat visits the arch hierophant on board the giant floating pyramid.

A delirious feast of the senses with the most stunning artwork I've ever beheld in a graphic novel. There is also heavily filmic reference with nods as diverse as Terminator to Black Sunday. In this satirical inverted universe anything goes and almost everyone turns up - we have Toquemada as a werewolf, Hitler, Nero channelling his inner Frank N'Furter, Dracula, Elizabeth Bathory. Caught in the midst of this battle is our protagonist Requiem, who learns that he is the reincarnation of a Teutonic Knight warrior Thurim. The inhabitants of Resurrection (the inverted hell world) want to depose Dracula and put Kryptos - suffering from juvenile dementia on the throne.
